Welcome to Dogs on the Go, a dog walking service in the Decatur, Georgia area.  I am the owner, Barbara Cole, and I don’t have a sob story about why I left my job to become a dog walker.  In fact, I am still co-owner of a small consulting company that has been in business for over 11 years.  I know what it takes to keep customers happy….great service at reasonable prices.  Dogs On The Go is not a pet sitting service or doggie daycare.  What’s the difference?  Dogs On The Go is a dog walking service that provides gentle, moderate, or rigorous exercise tailored to your dog’s individual needs.  I have over 30 years of experience with dogs of all sizes and temperaments, and I would love to walk your dog.

Why use a dog walker?   Due to the hectic lifestyles many of us lead today, dogs spend long hours at home sleeping, eating, or worse yet, tearing up the house.  This is not good for a dog's physical or mental health. Obese dogs are at greater risk for cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, respiratory problems, joint and skeletal disorders, and early death. Consistent exercise improves a dog's health by reducing body fat, and strengthening its muscles and bones, thereby increasing your dog's overall health and lifespan.  Exercise helps a dog's mental state by reducing stress and anxiety, and in turn reduces or eliminates the destructive habits they can  develop.  Well exercised dogs behave better, sleep better, and have overall better health.  A caring dog walker can work with you to develop a personalized walking or exercise program to help your dog.
